Enhanced Learning Credits
Overview
The MOD’s Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) Scheme promotes lifelong learning amongst Armed Forces members. The scheme provides financial support in a maximum of three separate financial years, enabling higher level learning of a nationally recognised qualification at Level 3 or above (or approved international equivalent) with an approved Learning Provider.
How do I claim ELC?
There are several stages to the ELC process. For full information on the following process and procedures, check Joint Service Publication (JSP) 822.
- You must be a registered Scheme Member and have accrued sufficient service before submitting an online claim. More details on this can be found here
- If you are still serving speak to your Education Staff, or, for Service Leavers contact your SSR. Appropriate checks can then be done to issue your account.
- Saving your space. Our new entrant gas Managed Learning Programmes are often fully booked. You can deposit your personal contribution at any point to secure your seat.
- Once you have an account, search for an approved provider such as Gastec, then simply log in and submit your claim.
- Finally you must complete your Course Evaluation when requested, further claims cannot be processed until your previous course evaluation has been completed.
