We have the exact qualification you require in order to carry out work as a domestic installer/electrician.

The New Entrant electrical training course and qualifications take you from a complete novice to a level of practical competency with the capability to undertake your own electrical installations. All Gastec courses will have a fully accredited certification body certificate which you will need to further your chosen career.

The New Entrant Package for electrical training will be greatly beneficial if you are aiming to achieve any EAL higher levels of qualification

Course Modules

As part of the 15 days of electrical training, you will undertake three separate electrical qualifications all of which culminate with assessments and examinations. At Gastec you will be taken through a variety of practical training tasks to ascertain your installation competencies. This will help and assist you towards a successful outcome in your examinations: 

EAL Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations

This is an electrical course formulated by our training team designed to cover the practical criteria for domestic home installations. It starts with the basic electrical knowledge required to enable you to achieve confidence and understanding of the modules and gives you the confidence and ability to carry out electrical work unsupervised in a safe and efficient manner.

The module is designed to run in tandem with the requirements for Building Regulation Part P and is applicable to domestic electrical work only, work that is allowable within the self certification scheme. The method of training Gastec provide guides you effortlessly towards the types of work you will be allowed to carry out in domestic dwellings in England & Wales.

This electrical module will allow you to carry out electrical work in domestic premises that does not need reporting under the building control regulations, it is also the first step you will need to apply for registration to any of the competent person scheme operators such as Napit or NIC etc. They have their own entry criteria that you would need to check, unfortunately, they change their respective entry criteria often therefore, Gastec can not be held responsible for any changes the CPS operators make.

EAL Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2018 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

This module will underpin the knowledge and understanding you have in respects to wiring regulations within England & Wales. Undertaking this electrical qualification is a requirement of any Part P governing body that you choose to register with.

Successful completion of this qualification along with EAL Periodic Testing provides your selected self certification governing body with evidence that you have achieved a full understanding of electrical installation wiring requirement and that you have gained total awareness with the layout, content and application of the BS 7671 (2008) 18th Edition Regulations

EAL Level 3 Award in the Building Regulations for Electrical Installations in Dwellings

This course is aimed at electricians working in the building trade who require a working knowledge of the ways electrical installations in dwellings can affect the building’s construction.
