Gastec has proudly offered work placements across all our Managed Learning Programmes since 2002. Guaranteed on-site work experience with highly reputable companies and a 100% portfolio completion promise.Â
We can only offer a promise of a complete portfolio to anyone attending a new entrant course with us. For insurance, and without knowledge of a candidate’s skill level, we are unable to accept outside candidates for portfolio building.
Our domestic gas work placement is a guaranteed way to populate your portfolio. With a completed portfolio, you would hold the final piece of the puzzle to obtain your Initial Gas Qualification (IGQ) which will then enable you to book the final ACS assessment leading to Gas Safe registration.Â
Who do you use for your work placement?
we use three largely reputable companies. We ensure when on a work placement that you stick with the same company from the start, there is no catch, just straightforward work alongside a Gas Safe registered engineer.
When can I do my gas portfolio?
We have availability every single week of the year for work placement due to the size and nature of the Gas Safe registered companies we work with. You simply ask us when you would like to get out there and start populating the portfolio.
How much does it cost?
Our work placements are set at £999.00 inclusive of VAT. There are no strings attached.
How long does a gas portfolio take?
You have up to two years from completion of your course to finish the final portfolio of evidence. How long the portfolio takes depends on the amount of work in the chosen subject area you are undertaking. We ensure you are sitting in a van with an engineer actively undertaking this type of work with a 100% completion rate. Our work placements are guaranteed within a set timeframe.

Can I add LPG with my gas training?
A very common and easy process. If you wish to add LPG qualifications to your first time registering with Gas Safe you simply will undertake some additional training in the centre, contact the office today for more information on the process.Â
