OFFICE MANAGER

Avril has been with the team at Gastec for multiple years and is head of all administrative matters. Anything you need to book a course is in safe hands with Avril’s years of experience. The moment you walk through our doors, you will be greeted with a smiling face to introduce you to our facilities. Any questions about expanding your business opportunities in the centre will be answered in a friendly and professional manner at any hour of the day. Unsure where you stand with timing or if you have an urgent qualification up for renewal. Find Avril, and she will get you back on the track to Gas Safe registration.

INTERNAL INVIGILAOR & ASSESSMENTS MANAGER

Gastec’s very own walking library of knowledge. If you have ever crossed paths with our Rick, you will know there is nothing worth knowing that he doesn’t have stored in his wealth of knowledge in the industry. Ricky has been a core member of the Gastec team for almost 20 years now and is head of all things assessments. Any time our phone rings for technical field support, rest assured Rick will be there to guide you through it.

TRAINER

As you know him, Surge has been with Gastec for over ten years—the friendly face of new entrant’s gas training. Surge has trained hundreds of new entrants in the industry over the years and continues to provide ongoing support to any engineers in the field. Coming from multiple industry-leading gas companies with a wealth of knowledge and experience, you won’t find a more personal trainer. Actively still running his own gas engineering business alongside training ensures you will be trained theoretically and practically in a modern and relevant way. Just be warned about the lousy dad jokes… But all jokes aside, you could not ask for a more professional trainer to get you started on the ladder to Gas Safe registration.

Philip Jenkins

TECH & DEV MANAGER

Philip has been with Gastec training for multiple years, looking after all aspects of Gastec training centres, whether online or in-house, with our modern training facilities. From a gas engineering background and passion for modern technologies, Philip has pushed forward with training for the current heat pump rollout. He is excited to see hydrogen’s role in the coming decades as a firm believer in its development.
Philip is fully qualified and competent with gas safe to train and assess in all aspects of:

Oliver Muggridge

ADMINISTRATOR

Oliver has made somewhat of a name for himself over the last couple of years. Anyone with a technical booking query or bespoke course requirement would have been dealt with on the same day with Oliver’s professional approach and quick turnaround times.

Maria Jenkins

CENTRE MANAGER

Maria has been with Gastec training since its formation three decades ago, and now specialises in helping people find a new career path.

Maria is known to everyone who comes through the doors as the woman to speak to if you want to expand your business.

The face for all personal requirements and questions about training has not changed for almost thirty years. Taking pride in our high pass rates, once you sit in one of our modern classrooms with Maria for an introduction, you will see what a new career can really look like.

Stephen Jenkins

FOUNDER

Steve founded Gastec Training after seeing a huge skill gap in the industry and an outcry from people looking to become skilled tradespeople. Hard work and constant personal training and development have brought Steve through three decades of training and over six decades of being in the industry. From the early days of training everyone himself and moving on to assessing candidates and internally verifying Gastec’s assessors, it’s safe to say Steve has held every seat in the building at one point or another.

Stuart Forbes

Trainer

Founder of Fairford heating, a well-established heating business that is still very much active today. Stuart has been involved in the industry for generations, sharing a wealth of knowledge with engineers and experienced field workers looking to expand into new sectors.

If you are thinking about gaining qualifications in Oil or LPG, Stuart will be there to give you the hands-on approach to training that is needed to undertake installation, servicing and maintenance work with full industry compliance.
