The time required will depend on what gas engineer courses you are looking for. Our friendly staff will be happy to send out all timeframes to get you on the Gas Safe Register.
Holding qualifications is not a requirement to undertake a gas course. You can undertake gas safety training with us from scratch or you can undertake a gas conversion course to start in another sector
COMCAT is the abbreviation and gas ACS code for Commercial Catering Appliances such as COMCAT1 which is a gas training course for experienced operatives who wish to undertake commissioning, service and repair of commercial catering appliances. COMCAT1 will cover boiler burners, open/solid top ranges, hot plates and bain maries. Other COMCAT courses cover a range of commercial catering equipment, the list is extensive so don’t hesitate to contact Gastec for guidance.
CCN1 (Domestic Gas Safety) is the gas industry core qualification for engineers wanting to work on gas appliances. With your CCN1 Gas qualification, you can apply to be on the Gas Safe Register to work on gas appliances such as CENWAT1 CKR1 HTR1 DAH1 MET1
OFTEC stands for the Oil Firing Technical Association. It is a ‘competent persons scheme’ to which Gastec offers courses. Approved installers may install oil, solid fuel and renewable heating equipment under the OFTEC scheme.
