Gastec is proud to announce a new partnership with Heat Engineer Software, the first truly professional and international heat loss calculation software. Fully customisable, the software allows surveyors, engineers and architects alike to change the language to their country of choice, set outside mean temperatures, and construct bespoke building materials, which will then calculate both the thermal conductivity and subsequent U values.
The Software strictly adheres to the calculation process set out by CIBSE (Charted Institute of Building Services Engineers), and they are also an industrial associate of the CIPHE (Charted Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineers) so its safe to say, the app is in safe hands.
Before a heating system is installed, whether it’s a renewable or conventional fossil fuel boiler, a plumber or heating engineer must complete a detailed room-by-room heat loss calculation. The results from a heat loss calculation can then be used to determine each room’s emitter size (Radiators, fan convectors, fan coil units and underfloor heating pipe centres) and the overall power output (kW) required for the heat pump, Biomass or conventional fossil Boiler.
