Domestic to Commercial Gas Changeover

This is a three-day course which is inclusive of two days of training and one day of assessment. This course does not include any appliances as it is a core element.

CoDNCO1 is the core Changeover from a Domestic to a Commercial core. As long as you hold a valid Domestic core (E.G CCN1) Then your CODNCO1 shall remain valid. This is the fastest route into commercial and industrial gas work as your Domestic core will cover many basic principles, this allows training to be specialised towards changeover learning modules.

The training will cover what you’ll need to know in order to understand the differences between Domestic and Commercial core gas safety. Training will show you how the changes differ upon testing and gas detection; also strength testing and purging of installations. The training also makes reference to the key differences between commercial appliances as opposed to domestic appliances and the varying tests and checks associated.

These consist of open-book written assessments. The Open Book assessments permit the use of approved reference material such as the Gastec training manuals to obtain answers.

All written assessments contain either multiple-choice questions or true/false statements.

Training and assessments for CODNCO1 will cover the following and more:

• Gas Safety Legislation
• Gas Emergency Actions and Procedures
• Characteristics of Combustion
• Ventilation for commercial & industrial premises/ plant rooms
• Installation of Pipework and Fittings
• Tightness Testing between Appliance Isolation Valve and appliance Operating Taps for Pipework Volume up to 0.15m3
• Checking and/or Setting Meter Regulators
• Identification of Unsafe Situations and the Use of Emergency Isolation Controls and Valves
• Checking and Setting Appliance Burner Pressures
• The Operation and Checking of Appliance Gas Safety Devices and Controls
• Re-establish Existing Gas Supply and Relight Appliances

• CCN1
