Common pre-requisites for MET4 are:

• CMA1
• CESP1
• CCN1
• COCN1
• CCCN1
• QCF or S/NVQ.

Note: If working on meters >16m3/h or working on installations out of the scope of UP/1B TPCP1 or TPCP1A is required.

First Fix of Commercial Pipework (ICPN1) may also be required where alterations to the outlet supply are necessary to facilitate the installation of the meters.

Note: Work on meters with MP meter < 6 m3/h require REGT1, MP supplies > 6 m3/h also require REGT 2.

Exclusions:

Secondary meters, meter reading, pre-payment mechanisms, meter box installations, construction of meter compartments or housings, service pipework, installation or exchange of ECV/MI, service valves or their operation, meter removal from site and subsequent disposal; testing by OFGEM and theft of gas.

This course is designed for anyone seeking Initial Assessment or Re-Assessment on MET4 ACS

MET4 assessment covers gas meters with a badged capacity of up to 40 cubic metres per hour capacity, with pipework up to 2” in size (50mm).

These consist of open-book written assessments. The Open Book assessments permit the use of approved reference material such as the Gastec training manuals to obtain answers.

All written assessments contain either multiple-choice questions or true/false statements.
