These consist of open-book written assessments. The Open Book assessments permit the use of approved reference material such as Gastec Training manuals to obtain answers.

All written assessments contain either multiple questions or true/false statements.

Workshop activities on live appliances are required. Testing gas safety competence in the work of installing, commissioning, exchanging, disconnecting, servicing, repairing, and breakdowns of non-domestic gas catering appliances in the COMCAT5 grouping.

CCCN1 or CoDC1 or QCF or S/NVQ alternatives.

Proof of existing Gas Safe Registration for Reassessment, or 12 months registration with the Gas Safe Register plus proof of working on appliances relevant to the qualification being undertaken.
